Program Overview

Beauty Beyond Bars™ is Begin Within Foundation’s hands-on, community-centered workforce development and reentry initiative designed to empower incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women through emotional wellness, personal development, mentorship, career readiness, and pathways into the beauty industry.

The program combines healing, self-discovery, workforce training, entrepreneurship education, and professional mentorship to help participants successfully reintegrate into their communities and build sustainable futures. Every touchpoint is designed to remind the women we serve of something essential: they are seen, they matter, and opportunity is available.

Facilitated by Begin Within Foundation, Beauty Beyond Bars™ is powered by community partners, beauty industry professionals, and a deep commitment to showing up consistently, compassionately, and with tangible resources and opportunity in hand.

Incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women face a persistent gap between need and opportunity. Workforce training, beauty industry education, mentorship, and pathways to self-sufficiency remain out of reach for many — not due to lack of programs, but due to lack of access, awareness, and trust.
